The media house ABC Startsiden was established in the early stages of internet in 1996, with the main brand www.startsiden.no.
Startsiden is among top 3 sites in Norway and has 1.8 million unique users pr week (total population 4.5 mill). In Feb.2007 the digital newspaper www.abcnyheter.no was launched. This site also includes a web TV service (www.abctv.no). This site has 600.000 unique users pr. week (Oct. 2008). The main income is based on advertising. There are 65 employees in Norway. ABC startsiden is 99.61% owned by Telenor, but brand and company operates independent of Telenor core business.
On 2nd June 2008 the Hungarian version of ABC Startsiden in Norway, infosarok.hu and hirsarok.hu, was launched in close corporation with Pannon. The media company in Hungary is named Step ahead and is 100 % owned by Pannon.
