Amobee is a media system capable of dynamically inserting targeted, interactive advertisements into all types of mobile entertainment and communication channels. Using this infrastructure, operators can monetize their audience well beyond Mobile Internet and let Advertisers buy inventory across multiple channels including 3rd party applications and services.
For the purpose of the Playground demo, Amobee has created a simple wap page where Telenor Group users will be able to enjoy real ads. Two formats are being demonstrated in the context of the demo:
- Banner ads (ie. MMA specifications)
- Interstitial ads
For the full list of supported formats, please contact Amobee.
Rotation of ads is handled by the ad-server which is responsible for serving the most suitable ad content based on a number of criterias. These criterias can include user profile, campaign data, handset characteristics, Telenor's specific policy, behavioral data etc. For the purpose of the demo, basic ad rotation is being used.
Users from the Telenor OpCos can interact with ads and generate a click-to-action. The system supports the most commonly used click-to-actions, including:
- Click-to-moreinfo
- Click-to-browse
- Click-to-call
- Click-to-SMS
- Click-to-download
A single page can contain multiple banner ads. For instance you can have a banner ad at the top of the page which is charged at a higher CPM than of the one at the bottom.
Interstitials are typically used inside applications whenever there is an idletime (ie. application start up). In wap, an interesting use case consists of displaying an interstitial when the user is about to quit the Telenor portal to browse off-portal sites. By doing this, Telenor OpCos can monetize the outgoing traffic and take the opportunity to advertise Telenor's contents & services to bring the user back on portal.
